Woodland Interpretation Centre, Guildford - Competition
The proposal is for a combined woodland information and canal visitor centre for in the heart of Sydney Wood.
The scheme provides a 'hub' incorporating a cafe, lecture space and ancillary functions with two exhibition pavilions in the grounds.
The low carbon scheme utilises hydro-electric power generation from the canal and adopts a 'light touch' approach allowing complete removal and reinstatement of the natural woodland habitat at the end of the buildings life.
